The electrical panels we build

  • Control and protection panels and distribution boards to REBT (Spanish low-voltage regulation).
  • HVAC control panels, with programmable controllers for air handling units, boiler rooms, chillers and fan coil units.
  • Motor control panels for pumps, fans and extractors, with duty/standby alternation, protection and signals for the supervisory system.
  • Industrial and building automation, using relays, timers or programmable controllers.
  • Extensions and modifications to existing panels, with updated schematics.

We build for building owners as well as for other installation contractors and engineering firms, either from their schematic or designing it ourselves.

Built to standard

An electrical panel is an assembly that has to be safe today and maintainable in twenty years' time. That's why we design and build it in accordance with:

  • REBT and its supplementary technical instructions (ITCs).
  • UNE-EN 61439, the standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies: design, temperature rise, clearances and verification.
  • DIN standards for the mounting and identification of cables, terminals and equipment.

We normally work with Schneider Electric switchgear, whose products we are certified to install, and with whatever brand the project or building owner specifies.

Workshop-tested before reaching site

Every panel leaves our workshop verified. Before dispatch we check:

  • Wiring, tightness of connections and continuity of the protective circuits.
  • Insulation, using an insulation tester.
  • Operation of every switching function and every protective device.
  • Controller programming, if fitted, by simulating the field signals.

That way commissioning on site is shorter, any surprises stay in the workshop and the downtime needed to connect the panel is kept to a minimum.

Complete documentation with every panel

Nothing costs more than a panel without schematics. Every panel is delivered with:

  • As-built electrical schematics.
  • Terminal and signal schedules.
  • Labelling of cables, terminals and equipment.
  • Controller program and a copy for the building owner, if a controller is fitted.

If the panel is part of a BMS (building management system), every signal is named according to our naming database and tagged with Project Haystack, just as in the supervisory system.

HVAC control panels and BMS

This is our speciality. An HVAC control panel brings together the electrical side (protection and switching of fans, pumps and compressors) and the control side (controller, sensors, actuators and communications).

We build it with the Honeywell controllers we programme every day, or with the system the building already has (for example, EcoStruxure Building Operation or Siemens Desigo), and leave it ready to be integrated into the supervisory system and remote monitoring. If the panel replaces an old one, we reuse sensors, actuators and wiring that are in good condition.

Testing, inspection and maintenance of existing panels

As well as building new panels, we inspect existing ones. Using our own thermography, insulation, earthing and power quality measurements, we detect overheating connections, phase imbalances or harmonics overloading conductors, before they cause a failure.

After the inspection we give you our findings and a proposal: repair, extend or replace, depending on the condition of the panel. You decide what to do and when.

We work from our own workshop across Extremadura (Cáceres, Malpartida de Cáceres, Badajoz, Mérida, Plasencia and the rest of the region) and in neighbouring provinces in Spain. Although we are based in Cáceres, we can ship panels worldwide, fully tested and certified.

Case study

Adif: complete electrical installation and electrical panels

At Adif facilities we work as a subcontractor to their main contractors. Our first contract was the complete electrical installation and the electrical panels.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build custom panels for other installation contractors?

Yes. We build custom control, protection, switching and automation panels from your schematic, or we design it ourselves based on your requirements. They are delivered tested and documented.

Which standards must electrical panels comply with?

For low voltage, the REBT (Spanish low-voltage regulation) and its supplementary technical instructions, and the switchgear and controlgear assemblies standard UNE-EN 61439, which sets the design requirements and verifications for the panel. We add DIN mounting and identification standards so the panel is easy to maintain.

Do you include controller programming?

Yes. If the panel includes a controller, we deliver it programmed and workshop-tested, with a copy of the program and the documentation. If it is part of a BMS, it is ready to be integrated into the supervisory system.

How long does it take to build an electrical panel?

It depends on the size of the panel and the lead time for materials. We give you a specific lead time with the quote, once the schematic is finalised and switchgear availability has been confirmed.

Do you inspect old electrical panels?

Yes. We carry out thermography, insulation, earthing and power quality measurements, review protective devices and documentation, and propose what to repair, extend or replace.

From our own workshop, with installation across Extremadura and in neighbouring provinces: Salamanca, Ávila, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Sevilla and Huelva. And although we are based in Cáceres, we can ship panels worldwide, fully tested and certified.
